St Kilda Festival- Sunday 13th February 2012
Sapore’s St Kilda Festival Sanctuary!
St Kilda will be buzzing for the final day of the Festival on February 12th and Sapore is the perfect place to sample the relaxing atmosphere — while dodging the amazing crowds! This year we have lined up something for everyone…
The kitchen is open as usual, between 12 and 6pm, with a festival version of our a la carte menu (see below), featuring special additions such as a steak sandwich and chicken parmagiana — Sapore-style, of course!
Drinks will be served all day up until 8pm, including Sapore’s own Sangria, cold bottles of Peroni, Corona and our usual selection of beers, as well as our wines, sparkling, cocktails and spirits.
Our street tables are cordoned off from the crowds and security is on hand to ensure that all our guests enjoy a memorable festival experience. Bookings for tables inside and outside are advised on 9534 9666 dine@sapore.com.au or www.sapore.com.au
Then secondly, of course, comes Valentine’s Day. Simon has created a fabulous menu, which can be viewed on our Face book site - 4 courses at $130pp (including a glass of Sorelle Bronca Prosecco on arrival). It must be the perfect place to celebrate the day of love as Simon and Luisa met at Sapore five years ago and now have adorable 18-month-old twin girls!
Melbourne Food and Wine Festival 2nd- 21st March, 2012
…And then we start preparations for Melbourne Food and Wine Festival. We are honoured to be so involved in this year’s event — the 20th anniversary of the Festival. Simon will be participating in the “All Fired Up — chefs
presenting their favourite BBQ recipes” — set to take place over the Festival’s riverside opening weekend (Sunday 4th March) at the Festival hub and demo stage located at Queensbridge Square.
And we also have lined up:
• Tuesday, 6th March - Crawl & Bite - experience a signature small plate with a cleverly matched drink at Sapore, then move onto Mirka Continental Bistro & finish at Circa, the Prince for only $50.00 per person!
• Thursday, 8th March - St Kilda on Fire - Sapore will showcase two signature dishes at this unique sunset street BBQ! This is also a great chance to meet the Sapore team.
• Saturday, 10th March - Regional Italian Feast: Bologna — Simon rated Bologna as the culinary capital of Italy on his trip there last summer. He was particularly impressed by their approach to social lunches, which provides the inspiration for this themed menu: $70.00 for four shared courses, or $110.00 with matched wines

A big Sapore welcome back to our sous chef Chris Lillico. He worked under Simon three years ago before gaining more experience in Europe. Now he is back with a burning passion to create modern Italian food alongside Simon. We are lucky to have kept our core team — Simon, in-house sommelier & Restaurant Manager, David Wickwar, and functions Manager and 2IC, Jenna Williams, together now for five years. New Senior Chef De Partie Rebecca Lang, joins us from London, where she worked at Lutyens Restaurant Bar & Cellars.
